# Delete a taxonomy axis (supprimer un axe)

> Soft-deletes (tombstones) an axis so it disappears from every read while the row survives. REFUSED (422) when the axis still has nodes (empty its tree first) or is still referenced by products, so a product's classification is never orphaned. 404s for an unknown axis. Returns the deleted axis.
