# Place an in-store hold

> Sets aside a quantity of a sellable unit for a customer until `holdUntil` (sent as an ISO 8601 string). The hold is an INTENT to reserve stock — the actual stock decrement lives in inventory/checkout, never here. Created in the `held` state; the actor and held-at instant are stamped server-side. 409s on a duplicate id; 422s when `holdUntil` is not in the future.

  title: Solya POS API
  version: 1.0.0

The Solya POS backend HTTP surface. Every documented operation is
    agent-ready: it carries an `operationId`, an agent-facing `description`, the
`pos.*` scopes it enforces (`x-required-permissions`) and an `x-agent-tier`.
Success responses return the payload as raw JSON; failures return the
    `ErrorResponse` envelope (`{ error: { code, message, statusCode } }`).
